The Middle ages in Britain The world of the Late Middle Ages in Britain was dominated by an emphasis on faith --with a focus on the next world-- and a romantic literary spirit. The Britians while still holding on to their Pagan religion began to adapt a new religion called Christianity. As kings started to convert into Christianity and helped churches grow with manners, the churches started becoming places of study and where new ideas came to be. The romantic spirit came as stories where told of great journey far and near which showed a code of ethic which all knights held in chivalry. The other thing to come out of this period was the idea of courtly love in this idea it showed the beauty of women in deep description from head to toe. It also meant that a knight had to commit to one and only one lady which were always the most beautiful ladies around. |
